Games are for U.13 players (i.e. for players born on/after 1st January 2009)

Team size; 15-a-side

Pitch Size; Play length 13 to 13 full width of pitch

Goal type – well secured goalposts; Minimum 15ft x 7 ft.

Ball Type; Size 4 ball.

Games Duration; ALL Group Games - 20 minutes (2 x 10 min)s. Finals 30 minutes (2x 15 min)

Referees – Official GAA Referee provided by host club

Scoring; Normal match scoring.

Results: – 3 games played from open draw.

Top 2 play for Ben Murray Cup, middle two play for The Downs Shield, bottom 2 play for The Downs Plate.

Scoring difference to be applied in the event of teams on equal points.

PLAYING RULES

Full rules except:

• Two play rules
• No Marks
• Start game with thrown in at halfway mark.
• Goalkeeper Restarts play with kick out from Hands or on Ground from 20m line
• Frees; All taken from the hand or ground
• ‘45’s from the ground on the 45m line. All opposing players should be at least 10m from player taking.
• Free kicks should be no closer than 20m from opposing end line.
• Referees decision is final. Abuse of Referees/officials will result in an automatic expulsion.
• Any player who receives 2 yellow cards is ineligible to play in remainder of that game and a player who receives a red card is ineligible to play in remainder of competition.
• Where a final ends in a draw then there will be 2 periods of 5 mins extra time. If still level after extra time, then there will be 3 free kicks from the 30-metre line.
• Gum Shield to be worn as per rule. All on field players must wear mouth guards
• Coach/mentor encouraged to rotate players.

The focus for the games is on fun and enjoyment for all and full participation by all players who attend
